• India's Location

• India lies entirely in Northern
   Hemisphere.
• The mainlands extent between the
   Latitudes: 8°4'N to 37°6'N
   Longitudes: 68°7'E to 97°25'E
• The Tropic Of Cancer (23°30'N) divides the         country into almost two equal parts. 
• To southeast of the mainland lies Andaman       & Nicobar Island in Bay of Bengal.
• To southwest, lies Lakshadweep in Arabian       sea.

• The land mass of India has an area of 3.28         million km², which is 2.4% of the total                 geographical area of the world.

  the total length length of coastline of the 
  mainland, including Andaman and Nicobar
  and Lakshadweep, is 7,516.6 km. 
• South of about 22° N latitude, it begins to           narrow and extend towards the Indian 
   Ocean, dividing it into two seas- Arabian 
   Sea and Bay of Bengal. 
• Longitudinal and Latitudinal extent of 
   mainland is 30°.
